WiFi constantly disconnects. Android TV 9.0. Xiaomi Smart Compact Projector
0
Good morning,

I've had constant WiFi disconnections for 4-5 weeks and I´m out of options to fix this issue.
I´ve also contacted Xiaomi support and they are clueless about this.
Is it possible to raise this internally?

Issue description: The WiFi connection drops every 2 minutes or so. This started happening after the latest Android TV update 4-5 weeks ago.

Device: Mi Smart Compact Projector, Global version.

Troubleshooting attempted:
 - The issue is reproducible after FDR.
 - The issue is reproducible after changing the time from manual/automatic.
 - The issue is reproducible when using the phone as a hotspot.
 - The issue is reproducible in both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz bands.
 - The issue is reproducible with a different router.
 - The issue is reproducible when selecting the WiFi channels with the lowest interference.
 - The issue is reproducible even when setting up a manual IP.

System info:
 - Model: MiProjM05
 - Version: 9

Additional info:
 - Test speed shows 470 Mbps download and 440 Mbps Upload.
 - No other devices at home have this issue.
 - No updates are missing from the Play Store.
 - Android TV is up to date.
 - I have prepared a bug report just in case.

I have asked the team internally, if they ask anything. I will keep you posted.

Just curious - Internet works if connected via Ethernet?

I´m afraid that the affected device does not have an ethernet port.

I have the same problem. I bought it yesterday, until the update was installed wifi worked fine, but after it didn't connect. Today I bought a usb-ethernet adapter and now it works fine. Hopefully a fix comes soon as it isn't the most comfortable to use the projector connected to an internet cable...

I feel like this is a Xiaomi issue and not an Android TV issue.  Your best bet is to contact Xiaomi support.

Same problem with a projector bought a few days ago. I had a lot of trouble signing in to google on it and starting it because it was losing connexion all the time, but using my phone as hotspot worked. Weirdly enough, once a film had started it does not interrupt even though the alter “wifi signal lost” pops up regularly on the upper right corner. No idea how to solve it …
