Cast video to your Android TV

If you have an Android TV, you can cast content from phones, tablets, or laptops to your TV.

If you don't have an Android TV, learn how to cast content to other TVs.

Cast content from your device to your TV

Important: You can only cast from the latest version of a Chromecast-enabled app or a Chrome browser on a device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Android TV.
  1. Connect your device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android TV.
  2. Open the app that has the content you want to cast. 
  3. In the app, find and select Cast Cast.
  4. On your device, select the name of your TV .
  5. When Cast Cast changes color, you’re successfully connected.
To stop casting, on your device, select Cast Castand then Disconnect.

If you have trouble casting

Make sure casting is enabled on your TV
  1. On your remote, press Home.
  2. On your TV, at the top right, select Settings Settings.
  3. Under “TV,” select Apps.
  4. Under “System apps,” select Google Cast Receiver.
  5. Check that it’s turned on.
Update your TV
  1. On your remote, press Home.
  2. On your TV, at the top right, select Settings Settings.
  3. Under “TV,” select About and then System software update and then Software update.
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Connect your TV and device to the same Wi-Fi network
  1. On your remote, press Home.
  2. At the top right of the TV, select Settings Settings.
  3. Under “Network & Accessories,” select Network and then Advanced and then Network status.
  4. Find the Wi-Fi network name, listed next to “Network (SSID).” Make sure it’s the same as the network on your device.
