You can navigate your Android TV using your phone or tablet with the Android TV Remote Control app.
Note: You need an Android device running Android 4.3 or higher to use the Android TV Remote Control app. Learn how to check your Android version.
Set up the remote control app
- On your phone, download the Android TV Remote Control app from the Play Store.
- Connect your phone and Android TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On your phone, open the Android TV Remote Control app

- Tap the name of your Android TV.
- If it doesn’t show up, try the troubleshooting steps below.
- A PIN will appear on your TV screen.
- On your phone, enter the PIN. Then, tap Pair.
If you have trouble setting up the app
Check your Wi-Fi connectionTo connect through Wi-Fi, make sure your device is on the same network as your Android TV.
To check or change the connection on your TV:
- On your remote, press Home.
- At the top right, select Settings

- Under “Network & Accessories,” select Network

Network status.
- Find the Wi-Fi network name, listed next to “Network (SSID).” Make sure it’s the same as the network on your device.
To check or change the connection on your phone:
- On your phone, open the Settings app.
- To find your network or choose a different network, tap Network & internet
Wi-Fi.
- On your phone, turn on Bluetooth

- Open the Android TV Remote Control app
.
- Tap the name of your Android TV.
- On some TVs, you might get a Bluetooth pairing request.
- If you do, choose Pair.
- If you don’t, go to step 5.
- On your phone, you’ll get a Bluetooth notification. Tap Pair.
- Unplug the power cord.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in.
- Set up the Remote Control app again.
