To provide better security and align with modern security standards, Google is set to end support for account logins. This applies to Android TV devices with Android OS 7.1 or earlier. If your device is on Android OS 8 or later, there’s no impact.
Check the Android OS version
- On your Android TV, go to the device Settings

- To find your TV’s OS version, find “Version” or “Android TV OS version.”

If you’re already logged in: You stay logged in and can continue to use your TV.

If you log out or trigger factory reset: You can’t log back into your Google Account on this device. You can still use your TV without signing into your Google Account.

New setups: If you set up a device with Android OS 7.1 or earlier for the first time, you can’t sign in to a Google Account. You can still use your TV without signing into your Google Account.
