Android Auto Pixel 5
1
Recently purchase a Pixel 5 and can no longer use Android Auto in my car.  Loved Android Auto previously and worked well with my Samsung S10 but does not connect with the Pixel 5.  The phone and apps are both up to date and I am using the genuine USB A to C cable from the Google store.  My car is a 2018 Mercedes B class.

I have tried all of these steps previously and still nothing happens.  Very frustrating as worked seemlessly on my previous Samsung S10 handset

Was this issue resolved for you? I've also gone through all of the troubleshooting steps out there and can't get my pixel 5 to connect when my pixel 2 used to work perfectly.

Setting the default USB mode to Android Auto worked for me.  Prior to that the phone said it was connected to the car but the car didn't show any AA options.  My previous phone had worked with same cable/car.
