When my phone is full charged over 80% charged android auto gives me a charging error and then shuts down. It restarts almost immediately connects and then displays the same charging error and shuts down a gain and keeps repeating until I finally unplug. If the phone is under 80% it works fine. As soon as it get to fully charged the charging error starts appearing and the shutting and restarting process begins. It is very annoying especially when listening to music or using GPS. I have changed the cables tried everything I could nothing works. I have reported it To Honda they say it is an app issue. I have a 2018 Honda Civic and my Phone is a Samsung Note 8. Thank you.

Hi Orest,

Thanks for reaching out. If you could please let us know how frequently the issue occurs (ie 100% happens on every launch) it would help us better troubleshoot the issue. Other apps running on the phone may affect the behavior of Android Auto. Our engineers recommend to try closing all other running apps prior to launching Android Auto.

You can also try clearing the cache for Google Play Services and Android Auto.

To do so:
Open phone Settings > Apps & notifications > Android Auto > Storage > Clear cache and clear storage
Open phone Settings > Apps & notifications > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear cache and clear storage

Happens to me too. 2018 Honda Civic Type R and Samsung note 8. It comes on always above 80%, usually closer to 88 or 90% and it will disconnect then reconnect constantly.

Ive tried a ton of different cables, even ordering the anker ones recommended, resetting oh one, head unit and nothing works. I don't know what else to do.

I am having this same exact issue. 2017 honda civic hatchback and note 8. Its any time im high charge. Happens 100% of the time after 90% charge. I've factory reset my phone and ONLY run this app and still have the issue. I have a feeling that it has to do with the phone going into some sort of trickling power mode and the car doesn't know how to handle it.

Clear the cache for Google Play Services and Android Auto did not solve the problem.

I have Moto Razr force 2 and porblem began when I updated to Android 9 and I started using the new interface of Android auto (I don't know which one caused the problem). Please make some update it is very annoying have to use a non fast charge phone to use Android auto.
