Steering wheel controls no longer work

When I first started using Android Auto about 10 months, it worked absolutely fine. No problems whatsoever.

I haven't driven much in the last 7 months. I noticed about 1-2 months ago that none of my steering wheel buttons are working for Android Auto anymore.

I can't change tracks in Spotify anymore, I can't answer calls and voice command only activates Audis voice control.

And whilst I don't care all too much about this one.... The display behind the steering wheel between the speedo, no longer displays the tracks being played by Spotify.

I've seen lots of people reporting similar problems but no one seems to have a solution.

I have an Audi A3 2017.

Based on what I've seen online about Android Auto version 5 having problems... I tempted to install an older version?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing the bug reports to identify the root cause of the issue. A fix has been applied for Android Auto app version 6.1 (currently rolling out in Google Play). Please update the app and let us know if the issue persists.

Thanks,
The Android Auto Team.

I have a 2017 Nissan frontier.
Within the spotify app, I can move to the next song, no problem. This works with the buttons on the radio, or the buttons on the steering wheel.  However, when I'm listening to spotify while using Android auto, the forward and back buttons don't work.  Volume button on the steering wheel works fine in all cases.
This used to work, them stopped suddenly.  Hard to say exactly when because I don't drive that much anymore.

Similar issue here.  My controls "work" but mostly do the wrong thing.

The original poster received an email to send their debug info to.  Is that still happening?
