Android Auto fails completely on any kind of screen lock 0 Recommended Answers 3 Replies 16 Upvotes

Android Auto cannot work at all, if phone is locked by any kind of screen lock (PIN + fingerprint in my case). In such case, you can't simply connect your phone via cable and start your car.
You always must unlock your screen and only then Android Auto is able to display its interface on car's multimedia display. Otherwise (connecting a phone with not unlocked screen) Android Auto starts up correctly, detects car, connects to it (via Bluetooth and cable) but remains displayed on phone's display only.
Unlocking screen causes Android Auto to start working on car's multimedia display in a matter of second with not further issues (screen can be locked then again).
