Android App no longer displaying map on Car Screen using Bluetooth. Once worked. Please help!

New Car. For the first week I was able to connect my Android (pixel 2 everything up to date) via Bluetooth on Android Auto. my map would display on my car screen when the map app was open. It would navigate me entirely through the car screen and audio. After the first week my car went into the shop for a few days and came back no longer able to connect property. My audio for navigation goes through Bluetooth into the cars audio system but the navigation doesn't display on the car display, ONLY on my phone. Please help me get it back.
I've already removed and reconnected the phone to the cars Bluetooth

Have you tried removing the connected car from Android Auto and running through the setup again?

Open Android Auto on your phone, go to Settings > Connected cars and swipe away (left or right) the accepted car. Exit Android Auto, plug into your car and see if it will initate a new setup.

I think it has to with 911 and security because they are trying to take away being able to use phones when driving including Google maps

Same issue, tried all the same solutions, nothing. Phone projection worked fine until 3 days ago, now nothing. Google, any solutions?

Maps on my Chevrolet Bolt worked fine for nearly 2 years then last week it fails to display.  Working fine on my Galaxy S9 phone but won't go to my Auto display.  It seemed to occur either simultaneously or very soon after a Galaxy program upgrade.

We bought a 2016 GMC Sierra and we can't get the projection to work from our Samsung S9 phones.  We recently asked the dealer for help or a software upgrade and they directed us to a Google question.  We followed the directions but nothing.  The Android Auto App does not recognize the vehicle and we reinstalled the app twice.  Anyone find a solution yet?

I have same issue. It happenes every day. Some time s works some times not. I am sure uninstall Android auto and reinstall it without restart phone can make it work. While I don't call that as a solution.

I am having the same problem. Here is the relevant information.

  • Problem: Android Auto doesn't display the maps on the Sync 3 display from the synced Pixel 3 phone (also connected with USB cable). In addition, the audio doesn't play on the truck speakers for the maps on the phone, both suing Android Auto and regular Maps. I have done a factory reset on the Ford Sync 3 system as well as clearing Android Auto caches and rebooting the phone. None of these procedures worked. The only way I can get the phone to work is if I completely remove it from linking to the truck, then it works like a normal application.
  • Phone: Google Pixel 3
  • Vehicle: Ford F350 Super Duty
  • Since when: Since I bought the truck, 2 weeks ago.
  • How frequent: 100% if the time
  • Android OS version: Android 10 with January 2020 update.

Same... my galaxy s10+ did 2 updates (Jan 3 and Jan 10th). I noticed I can NO LONGER swipe down on my phone and choose the option for text and calls to ring thru to my phone. So if i get a text, i have no notification of it. I have to disconnect bluetooth. Calls will ring thru my Pilot via bluetooth but my phone no longer rings.
Also, huge- android auto no longer links my phone to my Pilot. Therefore, unable to use map on the screen of the Pilot!! This is a huge inconvenience. Something we all should be able to use as we paid money for the vehicles and the phones!! In order to hear the directions, I HAVE TO DISCONNECT BLUETOOTH IN ORDER TO HEAR THE DIRECTIONS WHEN DRIVING INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO HEAR HER THRU THE CAR SPEAKERS AND MAP DISPLAYING ON NAVI SCREEN...

Same problem. Google maps will not work on the android auto app. I cannot get it to bring up a new destination direction. Even when I select one from my saved locations, Android Auto will not bring up the new route. I just moved to a new city so this couldn't happen at a more inconvenient time.
