Why do I have to say 'Please'? 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 0 Upvotes

I have several issues with AA, but one of the biggest problems that is more distracting than simply using the handset, is the way that Assistant behaves using AA compared to the handset/Google home.
If I receive a message and decide to listen to it, I get the option to reply. If I say "No" the assistant hears me, and does nothing. However, the notification about this message is no longer on my phone as it's considered to be read. This is annoying.

The bigger issue is if i say 'Yes' or attempt to send a message from the start.
More often than not, I can get assistant to acknowledge that I want to send/reply to a message and it says 'Sure, what's the message?' and I dictate a message and it reads it back to me and asks if I want to send it or change it.
At this point you think you've got it to behave as it's understood every word you dictated in the message, and read it back to you correctly so saying 'send it' should be the final command and the message should be on it's way, but often I'm responded to with either:
1) Silence. No message gets sent.
 2) Some sort of flippant comment like 'Okey dokey' and nothing gets sent.

The only time it seems to send is if I say 'Send it PLEASE' and it occasionally sends.
On no other device with assistant have I had to use the word 'Please' to get a command actioned. I have nothing against using good manners, I'm all for it but if you don't have to do it on any other device you are not expected to do it on AA, meaning you are met with constant failures and have to go around in circles constantly trying to get a message sent, and ultimately you give up (and forget to reply because the notification has vanished) or pick up the phone (which I do not condone) and the whole experience is frustrating and distracting.

If anyone on the AA team at Google could test these apps before releasing them to the unsuspecting public, that would be appreciated as the 'It just works' slogan that the other company use is a very strong selling point when people decide which OS to invest in.
