Hello,
Prior to the Android Auto update at the end of last year, Amazon Music was working fine in Android Auto. Ask the assistant "Play Ruin by Lamb of God on Amazon Music" and it would play Ruin. "Play Handclap by Fitz and the Tantrums" and it would play Handclap. Unfortunately, after the update, Amazon Music started playing the wrong song every time. "Play Ruin by Lamb of God on Amazon Music" and it would play Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold. "Play Handclap by Fitz and the Tantrums" and it would play some random song by Billie Eilish. These results were 100% repeatable. It always plays the same incorrect song.

I have two android phones. Samsung S9+ is running Android 9. Samsung S10+ is running Android 10. Both phones have Android Auto 4.9.594934-release. I just updated both Amazon Music apps to 16.5.7. I had been having this problem in both phones, but it is now fixed in the S9+ (which has AU as a separate app) but it is still broken in the S10+ (which has AU integrated in the operating system).

Has anyone else seen this issue? Any ideas why the Amazon update has fixed the issue on Android 9 but not Android 10? This is very frustrated because I want my wife to be able to use Android Auto, but she will not if she cannot play the songs she wants....

Thanks
mike

I am experiencing the same issue.  Android Auto will repeat precisely what piece of music I have requested then plays something completely different.  Always the same incorrect selection.
Example:
Me:  play Sibelius symphony 1
AA:  sure...asking amazon music to play sibelius symphony #1 in e minor
*plays selection from west side story
Me: play west side story
AA: ok...asking  amazon music to play selections from west side story
*plays I'm on top of the world by the carpenters

It's almost funny

Yup

Same for me. Its almost as if google is asking for a song via an index number and the indexes are different in Amazon and Google databases.

Voice command: "Play Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin"
Response: "Asking Amazon music to play Led Zeplin"
Audio: Plays "Come Together" by "The Beatles".

Using Android Auto with google music correct song plays.
Using Alexa device with Amazon Music correct song plays.

I have the same issue. Alexa (Amazon Music) and Google Play on Android Auto work fine. I stopped using Amazon Music because of it. I pay for Amazon Family unlimited, and if this issue is not fixed, I will cancel my subscription because it is not worth it. I want to be able to access a huge music library in my car using my Amazon unlimited subscription.

Hi, I am wondering if the reason Amazon can't solve it is perhaps because it is not or at least not entirely their problem.  It is definitely a lot worse on Amazon Music but I also see the problem less often on my Spotify account balso , the googl eandroid auto  interface repeats back correctly what I asked for but sometimes it goes on to play something completely different.
