Android Auto no longer working

Recently changed over to the Pixel 7 and it was working for a time in my Android Auto (Audi) car. It then suddenly stopped working so suspect it may have been an update. The phone still charges but AA no longer pops up on my car screen which it used to do automatically.

On the phone, I have tried reinstalling, going back to the basic, updating, clearing cache - nothing.

On the car, I have tried various cables/friends phones, and they all work. I have also tried forgetting all connected phones etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have the same issue. Galaxy S20 with a mitsubishi triton. Sometimes the connection will reset itself, othertimes it'll cause the vehicles display to reset itself. Very dangerous and distracting!

Tenho o mesmo problema no Samsung S23 ultra com o meu carro Hyundai Creta. Estava funcionando e de repente não aparece mais. Foi a oficina Hyundai, testamos vários cabos e outros celulares, eles funcionam mas o meu não. Não reconhece o AA do meu celular no carro.

The app has worked for 5 years and it just stopped and gives me Communication Error 8. I have tried everything I can think of to fit it.

Same issue since end of july with samsung a71 in a subaru legacy 2018. Was working fine for many years. Try 6 new cables, reinstal ,empty cache ect.

S10+ no longer connecting to AA. Phone says it's connecting, but never does. AA does not show up on car as a source.

The same issue with Samsung M52 and Hyundai Tucson. After the last update it's just stopped working. Tried to change cables, but it didn't help. There are no problems with Samsung A54 5G and A51.

Can you please tell us if there is any approximate timeframe for resolving this issue?

I've been experiencing the same thing starting recently. The headunit just says that android auto has disconnected and it will never establish a session to show up on the screen. I've done he same things as above, cleared cache and data, no go. I'm going to try with my sons S21 as well to see if it does the same thing.

Is there a way to roll back to an older version of an app?

Pixel 7 Pro, aftermarket sony head unit. This was working fine about a month and a half ago. If I make receive a call it is received on the phone or my watch (samsung watch 5) but not on my head unit. Restarting the phone restores service for a while (1 drive), requiring a reboot practically very time I get in the car.

I have the issue as others, I have a Samsung A32 5G and a Citroën A3 Aircross 2022 model, AA no longer shows as an option to connect to. I have tried several USB cables, uninstalled the app and reloaded it. What I have noticed though is the app tile is no longer on my phone but it's there on my app list. I got a message saying I don't need to download AA as its automatically there!

Any hints on how to get AA back is much appreciated

I am having the same issue. It was working up until 2 days ago, then stopped and now my car doesn't give me the AA option at all. I've tried all the suggestions, even reset my 2021 Honda CRVs system back to factory data, and nothing has changed. Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue. Acura TLX and Pixel 7. Purchased a USB C to A cable directly from Google and it didn't even recognize in car. Another cable worked intermittently but but consistent enough to be useful

Same. Pixel 7 Pro and Pioneer head unit not working on AA. Plug in, AA might come up for a few seconds on screen and then disappears. Other times does not appear at all

Worked perfectly on my S20+ and still works perfectly with my wife's S23. So very much a Google problem.

I have had a similar issue with Pixel 6 pro and my Audi. For me, the connection cuts out while I'm on the road which can be very dangerous since it also closes out my navigation on my phone. So I unplug my phone from the car, replug in, it doesn't connect so I unplug again and then I have to open the Google maps app on my phone, re-type in my destination, and select start navigation all while driving. It's happened many times when I'm on a highway where I don't have the ability to pull over and re-enter the information and am forced to divide my attention between the road and my phone. I'd be happy to send a bug report if I'm given the instructions on how to do so!

Hi, recently got a Pixel 7 and I'm having this issue. Had a Pixel 4a before and didn't have this problem. It's a Suzuki Swift unit in the car (2019) It's like the car thinks I'm picking my phone up whilst we're moving, but it's actually just the phone is moving slightly where it is laid down, so disconnects then reconnects. It's infuriating! I'll send a bug report if I get the instructions.

I have the same issue with pixel 7a, If I clear storage and cache of Android Auto it then connects straight away. Not an ideal work around every time I connect to the vehicle.

7a worked okay-ish on Android 13 but completely stopped working when I updated to 14. Tried new cable, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing cache, and deleting Data. Nothing has worked.

Same issue here. I've tried everything (clearing the cache, new cord, updates, all of it!). We have a 2018 Crosstrek, I have a Pixel 6 and my husband has an 8. It works fine for him not for me. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm having a similar issue. I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro and have had no issues until last week connecting to Android Auto in my 10th Gen Honda Civic si. Then I started to receive a message saying that the connected device is not responding. I have tried multiple cables including approved cables and am still receiving the same message. my mobile is Samsung Flip 5 they can not with andriod auto by USB in my car,although I was factory reset so mobile was clean they could connect then i was tranfer data and applications they could not connect.

Hello, same story. It was working properly for around 3 months, but then stopped. I tried everything. Bluetooth works ,but AA can't be launched using USB. The phone is charging , but no options to connect AA. The problem is definitely with Android auto and not with the phones or cables or cars. Dear Google, please contact me for assistance

I have recently encountered the same issue, I have a Pixel 7 Pro and an Audi. It worked for months with no issues now it just sporadicly works when it wants. I have tried 4 different cables, deleted AA and my phone from the car etc and just keep getting the same issue. The phone charges no problem at all but just no AA.

I have the same problem I have a jeep compass, and my phone is a Google pixel. It just stopped working I have tried everything new cords, uninstalling it and reinstalling it and cleared all the data from the car and nothing worked.

Same issue with my pixel 7 pro with BMX X3.

Worked fine on August 3rd, went to connect on August 4th and since then AA seems to be crashing. App on phone constantly opens and crashes.

Really annoying if you rely on AA during vacation.

I am having Maruti Suzuki Baleno 2018 model. Android Auto was working till I purchased my new Samsung F15 with Android 14. Now the new phone gets connected to Android Auto of my car's SLDA but does not respond/work. I have tried with different data cables.
