Android Auto stopped working on my car screen after the Android software update on 12th August 2022

I connect my phone with a USB and Android Connect displays on the car screen. I tap it and it asks me to connect via my phone which says Android Auto available and to update. When I tap Update the app closes and car display says to reconnect Android Auto device. This goes round and round. I've tried uninstalling Android Auto on the phone but when I tap uninstall it tells me to update which I do. Again that goes round in circles so I assume it's something to do with the software update on 12th August.

It is very annoying as I now cannot use Waze, stream music etc. Any solutions or ideas as to what has happened and when this will be rectified ? It worked perfectly prior to Friday on Citreon C4 info display

Same problem only I'm driving an '18 Traverse, Ultra 21.

Whole darn thing does not work. All happened suddenly.

3 new cords. Can't really uninstal AA anymore just update , USELESS. WTF

Same issue for me in my 2018 Traverse with a 22 Ultra. Also stopped working in my truck with a pioneer after market double din with android auto. Used it just fine for almost a year. After December update it stopped working completely. My sons old Samsung s10e works just fine. No update done on his.

After the last update I had the same issue. I resolved it with firmware upgrade in car's screen.

How do you update the firmware? I have a 2018 MB GLC. It was working fine until 11/8/22.

I am having the same issues. Until a few days ago it was working a treat and wirelessly.

Can't even connect with the USB wire now.

I have a Samsung a52s 5g and have also tried my husbands Samsung and an old huawei phone.

I can connect to Bluetooth but not to AA.

Any ideas? Need this for work and Google maps. When trying to connect this pops up!

I often have the same pop-up message after updating Android Auto a few days ago. Previously, USB connection between the car (Hyundai I10)and my Xiaomi phone was OK. Sometimes, restart of the phone helps.

For me on my Z Fold4 Android Auto crashes very frequently. I tried several cables, it doesn't matter, it keeps crashing randomly.

I cannot connect to Android Auto (Mercedes Benz).
I've reset Mem&cache of AA App, updated the AA SW version and the other Apps. Also testing developer AA menu optons.
I have come to connect sometimes with difficulty to AA car but I am not able to find a pattern so that it works well continuously. When I try to connect again it doesn't work.
My AA version is 8.3.624134.

Edit. Problem fixed. It was a cable problem

I started experiencing the same behavior since 2 weeks ago, after my car was serviced. Up to that moment, AA was working normally. During service, the car battery had to be replaced. I don't know if this can trigger this problem but I've seen other complaints by people who have experienced this problem after replacing the car battery.

I've tried to connect my phone to another car, and the problem persisted. So, replacing the battery shouldn't be the problem's cause. I've tried it in a third car, where wireless AA was available. It worked like a charm. Through the wired connection, same problem again.

I've tried rolling back AA to a previously working version. I've tried a May, August and September's version. Strangely enough, none of them is working now, same behavior is exhibited when trying to connect.

My phone is a Samsung S20 FE and my car is a Mercedes A-Class from 2016.

Have the issue again after the latest android update. This time it doesn't even recognise the app exists. Tried different cables. Tried seeing if there are more updates and nothing.

Samsung galaxy fold 4. Won't connect because it says my phone is locked. Tried adding my head unit to smart lock, clear cache, resetting head unit, uninstalling android auto and more. Nothing works.

Mine will not work either on 2018 Kia Optima after latest update on my phone (mine is set to auto update). Our other phone (not on auto update) that we have not updated works fine so it is defiantly and definitely a problem in the update!

I have same issue on my Honda crv 2017. After latest update, there are many glitches and crashes when connecting to my car. I cannot use USB, or wireless. It takes about 3 reboot on crv console and 3 on phone for it to sync and work.

After upgrading software version to the most recent version available, nothing happens. Worst, my car isn't capable to detect a Honor 50 phone. Very frustrating. Fix this guys, please!

Android Auto on my Kia e-Niro 2021 and my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 keeps crashing/ disconnecting. Tried different cables, but that doesn't matter.
