Google assistant call defaults to speaker when on Android auto.

First time I see this issue. Maybe someone can help.

When I call using Google assistant as I am using Android auto the call connects but it defaults to the phone speaker instead of using the car Bluetooth.

If I make the call from the app on Android auto or receive a call it does default to Bluetooth as expected, it is only when using Google assistant that it defaults to the phone speaker.

I could not find a setting anywhere where I can tell the phone app or Google assistant to default to Bluetooth if connected.

Same issue here! Using A note 8 and a 2020 subaru forester.  I hope someone finds a fix? So far I can only get the call to go through the car if I manually change the source using the android auto phone app (on the car) after the call starts.
