Upcoming Navigation Notification Bar Blocks Google Maps

Android Auto app version: 6.8.613354-release
Google Play services version: (Settings > Apps (or Apps & notifications > App info) > Google Play services) 21.33.14 (150400-395723304)
Google Maps version: 10.86.1
The notification overlay that should only show up while NOT in Google Maps shows up while in an active Maps window, blocking the next exit/turn text directions and the visual path map. Sometimes killing all open apps before connecting temporarily stops this issue, but it returns shortly. This only started in the last 1-2 weeks. It blocks the possible alternate routes as well. This is a bug in a new update of Maps and/or AA as this upcoming navigation notification should not pop up on Maps.
