Why do I no longer receive Facebook Messenger notifications in Android Auto?

A number of weeks ago, I was able to receive and respond to FB Messenger notifications via Android Auto.  Suddenly they stopped appearing.  No change of phone,  no change of car.  Just worked one day, stopped working the next.  I have since changed both car and phone but notificationsare still failingto appear.

I see a number of others seem to be experiencing the same issue but I am yet to establish what the actual source of the problem is and whether or not this is going to be resolved.   Can anyone advise, please?

I have had this problem for over a year now and reported it nearly a year ago still no fix Facebook messenger does send SMS notifications to Android auto it's only messages that are actually Facebook messenger messages that do not receive the notifications I have a pixel 5 phone so have had Android 11 and was also using the beta right for the launch it wasn't Android 11 the cause of problem because it was working fine with all the beta versions and the first official release it just stopped working a few months after so could have been a security update or Google play play services update

It's been almost a year since this is reported but Android Auto team is just disappeared...

Some specialist you are, don't you think I have already done that, this issue has been going on for ages, now it is also Microsoft Teams messages as well as Facebook Messenger.

With Miui 12.5.7 android auto is not a different app but  the phone has it and up-to-date.

Car's app, also up to date (skoda kodiaq 2021).

So nothing from those two apps needs updating (both up to date).

There's something missing here...

I have even deleted the app and re installed it, makes no difference. 

My apps are always up to date.

I updated as recommended (I was actually already on the latest available to me, but I uninstalled/reinstalled.) Facebook messenger is still not working. Now I have a new problem when I say to open Spotify it will not do it in my car, instead it says it's opening on my Xbox at home. When coming home it is indeed open there.  This is just insane.  I'm not even attached to my home wifi. Why would it think  I want it to open Spotify on Xbox when connected to my android auto car infotainment system?

Will not read messages unless FB Messenger app is opened.
Hey Google cannot open Messenger, and says it "cannot send messages with FB messenger yet"
