How do I stop it from automatically routing to nearest location

For example. If I ask for home depot, it will automatically route me to the nearest store. I don't want that. I want to choose which store on the map depending on where it is then I'll route it from my location. It was always this way until a few weeks ago. Please help.

However, can you clarify somewhat more?
When you ask, do you use Google Assistant to do so?
Or, do you enter the search term in the text box?

Actually it's through android auto only. I push the mic and ask for home depot, maps will tell me the nearest location and then automatically route me to it. It used to show the several nearest stores and then on the satellite view I could choose which one I needed to go to but now it bypasses all that.
