[FAQ] Android Auto stopped working with my Huawei phone

We've found an issue with some Huawei devices that unfortunately make them incompatible with Android Auto. We are working with Huawei on a fix to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

We will update this thread when the issue is resolved. In the meantime, please contact Huawei if you have any questions.

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

Your friendly fellow gearhead,

Ernest, on behalf of the Android Auto team

Hello everyone !
@Tom skywalker
I finally managed to validate compatibility between Huawei and ANDROID AUTO !!!

The HUAWEI B180 phone must have the update. I neither know absolutely nothing, but I managed to do so, and his works! So everyone will get there ...: p

Here is the link, simply download the file, own an SD card. the update takes about 45 minutes, and no item is deleted from the phone! (The site is in German only ... It must translate the "install" its enough :)

My P9 is finally compatible with ANDROID AUTO I was afraid ...

Huawei P8 GRA-L09 (Android 6.0 stock b321), last version of Android auto, also suddenly stopped working with "Incompatible phone" dialog. Beside that b321 is a really bad, sometimes when I go to homescreen, all icons (launcher) are disapear for a second.

This is an unofficial answer.

For those who know how to install custom ROM's, try using CM builds on your Huawei, it's Honor 6 works fine with CM but doesn't work with Stock.

I have an Honor 5x and I get the incompatibility problem when I tried using with Android Auto. I was trying to connect to my 2017 Chevy Volt.

I am also getting the message:  "Something went wrong.  Google Play services doesn't seem to be working right now."

Hi there I've a P20 lite which was an upgrade from the P9 and while I never had any connectivity issue with the P9 the P20 fails to connect save via Bluetooth but I have no Android Auto access to maps calls , voice,ok Google nothing very frustrating after having had 2 years of driving pleasure !! According to Huawei forums they're laying the blame on Google updates and not on their handsets , any help or other app suggestions ????
