Android Auto brings Waze to your car display, and primarily focuses on navigation.
Get directions with voice commands
- Connect your mobile device to your vehicle with a USB cable.
- Select the app launcher
and select “Waze.”
- Say "OK Google" or select the microphone

- Tell Android Auto where you'd like to go. Some examples of things you can say are:
- "Take me home."
- "Navigate to Union Square, San Francisco."
- "Directions to Philz Coffee."
- "Navigate to work."
- "Drive to 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View."
- If multiple locations come up, confirm the one you want and follow the directions to your destination.
Put your car in park (P). You may not be able to type in your destination until you do so.
- Connect your mobile device to your vehicle with a USB cable.
- Select the app launcher
and select “Waze.”
- To open the keyboard, select the search field at the top of the screen.
Note that if Android Auto isn't supported in your country, search through voice commands and the Search bar will only be available in English. - Enter your destination. Some examples of things you can type are:
- "Union Square, San Francisco."
- "Philz Coffee."
- "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View."
- If multiple locations come up, confirm the one you want and follow the directions to your destination.
Navigate to a Saved place
- Connect your mobile device to your vehicle with a USB cable.
- Select the app launcher
and select “Waze.”
- Tap
and then Saved
- Tap on the relevant saved place and tap Go.
Note: You cannot add, remove or edit saved places while connected to Android Auto. If you'd like to add or modify a saved place, please disconnect your mobile device from your Android Auto unit and perform the action from the Waze app on your phone.
Report traffic incidents
- Tap Reports

- Choose the relevant report and tap Submit.
Note: You can only submit reports through the Report button.
Report an issue with Waze on Android Auto

To submit debug logs to Waze:
- First, please make sure your device isn't connected to your Android Auto unit
- Open Waze
- Search for 2##2 in the Search bar
- Close Waze
- Connect your mobile phone to your Android Auto unit
- Reproduce the issue
- Disconnect your mobile device from your Android Auto unit
- Open Waze again. Tap Reports
and tap Debug or tap My Waze, then Settings
.
- Scroll down, tap Send logs and confirm
When you fill out the form, please be sure to include the following information:
- Your Waze username - to find your username tap
