The status bar icons have turned black ONLY on the home screen. How can I make them white again?

The icons are black only on the Home screen. They are white on the recent apps screen, when any app is open, and are even white as they animate into place but turn black when they settle.
I have rebooted the phone, tried the UI Tuning in Settings, changed the desktop background, but nothing has worked. I don't have any apps installed which can alter themes and such.
This occurred this morning (May 12) after a series of updates through Google Play. The desktop would always "hang" for a few seconds after updates but then recover and everything would be as normal, but not this time.
