How do I block pop-up ads

Recently I've been receiving constant, obtrusive, and disruptive ads that I never used to receive as soon as I turn the screen on, and randomly when I've been on the phone for a few minutes. I have scanned for malware and viruses and everything is fine that way. I need to find a way to block these ads.

Hi Pamela McTaggart-Kerns. Intrusive pop-up adverts are usually generated by an app that you've installed. It would be best to check any you installed around the time you first noticed the adverts appearing. You could check any reviews for the app(s) in the Play Store to see if there are any reports of problems and contact the developer via the contact details on the relevant Play Store listing. Also check that you have Play Protect enabled.

As you say you've run an antimalware scan with no results there's nothing else I can suggest to help other than to pay to watch ad-free, any apps you really like. However, no ad should interfere with the use of your device whether free or not.
