Hi everyone,
Google’s Product Experts (PEs) are ready to help you in the Android OS forum. Who are they and how can you become one? This is an introduction to the PEs and other forum members.
Forum members:
Product Experts:
While Product Experts don’t work for Google, they are some of our most active and helpful members. They just love Android, Gmail, Chrome, and all things Google! Our PEs are so passionate about helping you and sharing their knowledge, that all their contributions are made on their own time.
There are more than a thousand PEs assisting hundreds of thousands of Community members a year. As a PE you can build a reputation by helping members and can earn one of the following badges:
  • Silver Product Expert: A new member who is still developing their product knowledge.
  • Gold Product Expert: A trusted, knowledgeable, and active member.
  • Platinum Product Expert: A seasoned member who contributes by providing help through mentoring, creating content, and more.
  • Product Expert Alumni: A past member who is no longer active, but was previously recognized for their helpfulness.
If a PE answers your question, be sure to ‘recommend’ that post to express your appreciation.
Other members:

Google employees and specialists are also active in the forums. They maintain the community by reviewing forums and assisting the PEs with the most advanced topics.
  • Google Employees: Product Support and Community Managers who work at Google.
  • Community Specialist: A Google partner who lends their expertise to help maintain our communities.
Additional perks:
Being recognized as a PE gets you access to private forums for discussions and even meet-ups with other PEs! In private forums PEs can assist one another and get to know each other, making it all the more special when they meet in real-life at one of the Google events!
Becoming an expert:
Interested in becoming a Product Expert? We’d love to have you! All you have to do is sign up on the Product Experts website and start contributing.
