Alarm App Unusable After Android 10 Update

Updated to 10 yesterday and my phone hasn't worked regularly since. Multiple times, the Messaging (default) App has crashed hard enough to have to restart the OS.

I also woke up this morning to none of my alarms working, and was late to work because of it. Restarting the phone, clearing the App cache and deleting/recreating alarms has yielded no difference. It pops a notification at the top of the screen about a missed alarm, but never triggers the standard alarm screen or sound/vibration.

This is incredibly frustrating. Please patch this update ASAP. I know I can't be the only user relying on that functionality.

I had the same problem. Reboot your phone into safe mode. Go to settings > system > reset option > erase app preference.
Then try to set an alarm see if it works.

The reason why it didn't work after the update was that all firing alarm notification was sent to silent notification, and Android10 by default locks your alarm notification settings

I have a pixel 2XL and discovered, after 10 days with no alarms, how to fix it. I swiped down to read  notifications to the one that said "silent notification" with my alarm icon on it. I had to swipe that notification to the right to reveal a setting icon that allowed me to change it from silent to audible!!! How ridiculous was that to hide a setting in the notification itself.

Experienced this today on one of our devices.  Incredibly frustrating!  Clearing the app storage did the trick!

Whoever allowed this to happen should be fired.

Can confirm solution is to nuke your alarm storage and re-enter everything.
So excited that I can now focus on trying to fix my busted Contacts app.
Also, the Google factory-default music playing app is broken now too. Thanks for that.

Again, you should fire whatever manager is in charge of pushing trash like this onto your customers.

Galaxy S10e, two alarm apps failing in Android 10.
Multi Timer Free sounds the alarm at lock screen as before for the amount of time I have set in the app, but no longer presents itself on the lock screen to acknowledge the alarm..  I have to unlock the phone and open the app to cancel the alarm - annoying.

Pimlical:   Alarm does NOT sound at lock screen like it used to.  Notifications are set to Alert, Show as pop-up, Sound, Vibrate, but nothing.  It does generate a notification, which is visible after unlocking. but this is useless if fails to alert me that the alarm went off.  The author has come up with updates, but it still doesn't work when locked, making it useless.  Even if it played a notification sound at lock, it wouldn't play loud or long enough for me to notice it.

If the phone is unlocked, Pimlical  it just plays the notification sound, not the alarm sound set within the app, and only plays it once.    One of my primary uses for this has been for it's loud, noticeable alarms that will wake me up, and get me to notice at any time, and Android 10 has rendered it useless for that purpose.   PLEASE, fix this or give me a way to revert back to Android P, which worked.

UPDATE:  I had to delete the folder Pimlical uses for all it's data, and uninstall/reinstall.   Now it alarms as long as I want it from the lock screen.  It brings up a full screen dialog with snooze and dismiss buttons, but the dismiss one does nothing.   Unlocking screen silences the alarm, but without a notification.

Found the solution for me.  The Pixel has a 'flip to shh' setting in do not disturb, which sets it to DND when it is flipped downward.  I had disabled alarms in do not disturb.

This is located by long pressing the do not disturb button.  Then either enable alarms, or disable the flip to shh setting in 'schedules'.  Which is very non-intuitive.

Or just keep your pixel face up to have alarms go off.
