Lost my android smartphone, can I cancel/undo the remote lock request?

I lost an Android OnePlus2. I went on Google Find my Device to request a screen lock with a message, however the Find My Device system does not tell me whether the secure request has gone through or not (since the phone was synchronized), nor can I see a time/date LOG for when the secure request was submitted and/or activated on the phone.

In short, I don't know whether the request (The one where you set a lock screen with a message) went through, because I would need to know that if it did go through, then I can be re-assured that the device will not SYNC ever again and that my data is protected. I tried calling google and they said their experts can be found here.

Hi Rochlin,
You can try setting up the screen lock again. If it doesn't let you, it means the device has been secured, since setting a password as screen lock only works if one doesn't exist on the device previously.

Heya

So it never officially/explicitly let me set it up to begin with, all it said was "secure requested" and on another version of the page "unable to reach device". There is no feedback.

Okay, let me gather some more info on that for you. I'll get back to you when I have an update.

This is about all the feedback I've ever gotten when submitting the lock & display message req. Can google disclose whether the request went through or not?

I'm having basically this same problem.
Has anyone resolved it? Or is it because it is off (maybe whoever took it shut it off so they can't be found) or the owner changed the password to Google remotely? I have been trying to figure it out for sure.
I did use my phone to test it on (as my husbands is the one stolen) and I can confirm that it does lock the screen w an option to call owner or whoevers number you put into the 'secure device' box.
And the play sound option makes the phone ring. But as to where his phone his atm I cannot be sure. I can say those options will work having used mine as the test subject since we have it. I hope you could resolve your issue. Hopefully we will find my husband's phone.
