Find and delete files on Android

On your phone, you can usually find your files in the Files app . If you can't find the Files app, your device manufacturer might have a different app. Learn how to get help for your specific device.

Find and open files

1. Open your device's Files app .
   • Your file categories will show. Learn where to find your apps.
2. To sort by name, date or size, tap a file category More Sort by.
3. To open a file, tap it.

Delete files

1. Open your device's Files app .
2. Tap a category a file.
3. Tap Delete Move one file to bin.

Share, print, save to Google Drive and more

Share files

1. Touch and hold the file.
2. Tap Share .

Do other actions, like printing or adding files to Google Drive

1. To open a file, tap it.
2. Search for options. If needed, tap More .

Find music, movies and other content

You can download files like music, movies or books in various apps. To find that content, go to the app where you downloaded it. For example, learn how to find videos downloaded in the Google Play Movies & TV app.

Transfer files to a computer

When you connect your device to a computer by USB cable, open the computer's 'Downloads' folder to find the files that are on your device. Learn how to move files between your computer and your phone.
