Check battery level on Android

You can see how much battery your Android device has left. When it's charging, you can see how long until your battery will be fully charged.

Note: Some of these steps work only on Android 9.0 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Show battery percentage in status bar

On most Android devices, to always see your battery charge percentage at the top of your screen:

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Turn on Battery percentage.

Check battery life & use

Note: Settings can vary by device. For more info, contact your device manufacturer.

Your battery life estimate depends on how you use your phone. 

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Under "Battery," see how much charge you have left, and about how long it will last.
  3. For details, tap Battery.
  4. For a graph and more details, tap More More and then Battery usage.
    Note: If you don't see "Battery usage," you're running an older Android version. Instead, tap the large Battery Battery.

See how long until full charge

  1. Plug in your device. Give it a moment to see how fast it’s charging.
  2. Open your device's Settings app.
  3. Under "Battery," see how much charge you have left, and about how long until a full charge.
