Set time, date & time zone

You can change your clock’s settings, including the date, time, and time zone. You can set how your alarms and timers work, and add clocks for other cities.

Change which time shows

  1. Open your device's Clock app Clock.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Under "Clock," pick your home time zone or change the date and time. To see or hide a clock for your home time zone when you're in a different time zone, tap Automatic home clock. 

Change alarm settings

  1. Open your device's Clock app Clock.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Under "Alarms":
    • To pick how long your alarm rings, tap Silence after.
    • To pick how long "snoozing" delays an alarm, tap Snooze length.
    • To change your alarm’s volume, use the "Alarm volume" slider.
    • To have an alarm become louder over time, tap Gradually increase volume.
    • To pick what the volume buttons do, tap Volume buttons. They can control volume, snooze an alarm, or dismiss an alarm.

Change timer settings

  1. Open your device's Clock app Clock.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Under "Timers":
    • To pick the ringtone that plays when the timer ends, tap Timer sound.
    • To have the timer sound become louder over time, tap Gradually increase volume.
    • To have the timer vibrate, tap Timer vibrate.

Add clocks for other cities

You can show the time in cities around the world under your main clock.

  1. Open your device's Clock app Clock.
  2. At the top, tap Clock.
  3. Tap World clock World clock.
  4. Next to each city you want to add, tap the checkbox.
    • To find cities by name, scroll through the alphabetical list.
    • To find cities by time zone, tap More More and then Sort by time.
