Set up your game controller settings on Android

You can customize your game controllers directly on your Android device, by swapping button and joystick assignments.

Connect a game controller

You can connect your game controller using either a wired connection or Bluetooth.

• To connect a wired game controller, use a compatible cable.
• To connect a wireless (Bluetooth) controller:
  1. Put your wireless game controller into pairing mode. Refer to your controller's manual for specific instructions.
  2. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  3. Tap Connected devices Pair new device.
  4. Select your controller's name from the list of available Bluetooth devices to pair it.

Customize the settings on your controller

Once your controller is connected, you can personalize its setup to match your individual preferences or suit your play style. For example, you can swap the assignment of any 2 buttons or swap the left and right joysticks.

Customize a wired controller

1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Tap System Game controllers.
3. Review the "Controller Settings" menu for your connected controllers.

Customize a wireless (Bluetooth) controller

1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Tap Connected devices.
3. Select your controller.
4. Review the “Game Controller settings” menu.
