Get location notifications with Find Hub

When someone shares their location with you, you can use Find Hub to get notifications to:

• Know when they arrive at a specific location, like home or work
• Know when they leave a specific location

Tip: You’re notified if someone sets up a notification for you. You can turn it off at any time in the settings.

Add a Location Sharing notification

1. On your device, open Find Hub app .
2. On the People tab, tap the profile of a person who shares their location with you.
3. Tap Get location notifications Add a location notification.
4. Under “When,” select the alerts you want:
   • Arrives: To know when the person gets there.
   • Leaves: To know when the person departs.
   • You can also turn on both options.
5. Under “Where,” select an address.
   1. To add a new place, tap Add location .
      • You can adjust the radius size on the map.
   2. Enter the address or select one from the smart suggestions.
6. Tap Save OK.

Tips:

• The person who shares their location with you gets an email about this notification. If they have notifications turned on, they also get a push notification. Check who you’re sharing with and what info is shared.
• You can change the location and adjust the size of the area on the map.

Delete location notification

1. On your device, open the Find Hub app .
2. On the People tab, tap the profile of a person who shares their location with you.
3. Tap Get location notifications .
4. Under “When,” tap the notification you want to delete.
5. At the bottom, tap Delete.

Turn off a location notification

When someone sets a notification for your location, you’ll receive an email and a push notification. If you don’t want them to receive these notifications, you can turn them off. This turns off any existing notifications that they added and they aren’t notified that you turned off notifications. You can continue to share your location with them.

The notifications remain off until you turn them back on, even if sharing stops and starts again. Any time that you stop sharing your location, these notifications automatically stop.

To turn off a location sharing notification:

1. Go to Location Sharing.
2. Turn off Allow Location Sharing notifications.

Tip: When you turn this off, others can’t create or receive arrival and departure alerts for you. Users who previously set alerts may find that their notifications are no longer active.

Fix problems with notifications

If you can't get notifications, check if:

• The person who shared with you is offline or has turned off location services.
• You have an older version of the Find Hub app. Learn how to update apps on Android.
• The person is under 13 years old. Check the applicable age in their country.
• You view this location on the web or in Find Hub without signing in (shared through a link).

Tip: If you check the location through a link without an account, notifications won't work.
