Connect AirPods® and other devices to your Android device

If you’re new to Android, you can still connect many of your favorite Apple® devices that you may currently have.

Some functionalities of these devices may not be supported on your Android device.

Connect AirPods to your Android device

Important:

  • We recommend that your Airpods case is charged.
  • Before you connect, place your AirPods in their case.
  1. On your Android device, from the top of the screen, swipe down.
  2. Touch and hold Bluetooth .
    • Depending on your device manufacturer, if you don't see an option for bluetooth as noted above, try looking in settings:
      1. Go to your device’s settings app.
      2. Go to the bluetooth settings.
  3. Turn on bluetooth.
  4. Tap Pair new device.
  5. Open the lid of your AirPods case.
  6. On your AirPods case, press and hold the button on the back until the device flashes a white light on the front or inside your device and your AirPods show up under “Available devices.”
    • If you don't find your Airpods, check under "Available devices" or tap More and then Refresh.
  7. On your Android device, select the device and follow the instructions.

Connect AirPods Max™ to your Android device

  1. On your Android device, from the top of your screen, swipe down.
  2. Touch and hold Bluetooth .
    • Depending on your device manufacturer, to navigate your bluetooth settings:
      1. Go to your device’s settings app.
      2. Go to the bluetooth settings.
  3. Tap Pair new device.
  4. On your AirPods Max, press and hold the noise cancellation button until the device flashes a white light at the bottom and your AirPods Max shows up under “Available devices.”
    • If you don't find your Airpods, check under "Available devices" or tap More and then Refresh.
  5. On your Android device, select the device and follow the instructions.

Connect other bluetooth devices to your Android device

If you have other bluetooth-enabled devices, you can connect them to your Android device.

  1. On your Android device, from the top of the screen, swipe down.
  2. Touch and hold Bluetooth .
  3. Tap Pair new device.
  4. To make the device available, press and hold the pair button with your bluetooth device.
    • To learn how to make your device available, refer to your device’s manual.
  5. On your Android device, select the bluetooth device and follow the instructions.

Tip: To connect quickly if your device supports Fast Pair, open your case and tap on the panel that appears on your Android device.

What can’t connect to Android devices through Bluetooth

Although we welcome many devices from many ecosystems, some devices aren’t currently supported on Android. These devices may not work as intended on Android devices:

  • Apple Watch®: You can learn more about Google’s Pixel Watch available for Android devices.
  • Airtag™: There are similar products available that are compatible with Android.
