Important: Check if your local Health Authority uses the Exposure Notification System.
If you turn on Exposure Notifications, your local Health Authority can provide you with a verification code and ask you to upload your COVID-19 test result in your Exposure Notifications app. You may also be able to request a verification code directly in the app if your Health Authority has enabled this option.
When your local health authority sends you a text message with a verification code or when you request a code, the app can verify the authenticity of the message sent by your Health Authority and notify you to submit your test result. You can turn off notifications at any time.
Turn off notifications
- On your Android device, open the Settings app.
- Tap Google COVID-19 Exposure Notifications.
- Turn off If you test positive and receive a verified SMS with your results, get a reminder to share your test status with others.
What happens when you share your result
Your random IDs are uploaded to help notify others of possible exposure. Learn what happens when you report a positive COVID-19 test.
