Turn location information on or off and manage its permissions

You can get local search results, commute predictions and nearby restaurant information when your device's location is turned on.

Turn location on or off

On your Android XR device, open the settings app.

On the left, scroll to find 'Location'.
Select Location.

You can find:
- App permissions: Check each app and its permissions.
- Location Services: Find settings for Location Services.
  - You can turn the following on or off:
    - Earthquake alerts
    - Google Location History: This feature saves data in your account to give you more personalised experiences across Google services. You can choose which settings save data in your Google Account.
    - Google Location Sharing: Share your real-time location with people who you choose in Google apps like Maps, Family Link or Personal Safety.
    - Location Accuracy: With this setting on, your phone uses GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks to get a more accurate location.
  - Trusted places: Manage trusted places.
  - Recent access: Find apps that recently accessed your location.
