Android Developer Verification: Required documents by country and region

In August 2025, we announced new requirements for Android developers to verify their identity and app ownership.

The requirements depend on whether a developer is an individual or an organization:

  • Organizations are required to provide 2 different types of documentation for developer verification: organization registration documents and a government-issued photo ID from an authorized representative of the organization.
    • In the event of a Government organization you may submit a document with your government’s letterhead as a form of proof if the above business documents are not available.
  • Individuals may need to submit a government-issued photo ID and proof of address document.

The specific identity documents required will depend on your geographic location. To help you prepare and get started, a complete list of acceptable documents is below.
