Direct traffic GA spam Chinese language

I have an ongoing issue that started in mid June where I have a large number of direct traffic coming in from 5 countries all with Chinese language (identified through filtering down from "platform>language" in custom reports). It started on or around June 14th and is getting worse every day. My host says they can't block it bc it's GA spam which essentially mimics a user on my site and is triggering my GA code to think it's a legitimate user when it isn't. GA4 no longer allows you to create filters other than internal ones with IP addresses specifically and these aren't available and would be in the hundreds or thousands every day.

My site is US based and on an ad network. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

Hi,

Share your website link.

How did you integrate Google Analytics on your website? using GTM or manually or Plugin?

You can block tracking data from those country if those country data is not important for you.

I have done this for my client to avoid bot traffic.

I experience the same, did you manage to resolve the issue?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem and it also started on June 14th. I found out that it exclusively comes from users with Chinese language from mainly the US, UK, Australia, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. Therefore, I installed a plugin (CleanTalk) and made blacklists for both, the Chinese language and the country (China). So far, with no success. My site is not US based but it is in US English. I would be grateful if someone has advice! Thank you!
