Events submitted via the Measurement Protocol are not triggering Goal conversions 2 Recommended Answers 16 Replies 2 Upvotes

I am submitting Events using the Measurement Protocol. This is an example of an event that I'm POSTing:

(I changed my google tracking ID above - my actual request uses my real id.)

If I POST to the above URL, I can see the event registered in the GA realtime events display.

I have a GOAL set up to track an Event with Category=CreateAccount and Action=CreateFreeAccount. I did not set a Label or a Value for my goal.

After POSTing the Event, no goal conversion is recorded in Google Analytics. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Update: If I trigger the Event on my site, not only can I see the event come through in the realtime display, but I can also see the Goal Hit. The screenshot below was taken after I triggered the Schedule Demo Event.

But on the Google Analytics home dashboard, no goal conversions are shown:

Both of these screenshots are using the same View - "All Website Data"

From the time the hit is triggered and is showing in the real time reporting, it can take from 30mins up to 48hrs from that time, for that data to process into the standard reports.
If you triggered that goal today, the lower pic is set to Last 7 days so that lower screenshot/chart will not show any data for the current day (even if it has processed into the reports).
- Make sure you are looking at a correct date range and also give it time for GA servers to process the data and send it back to your reports (may take up to 48hrs.. ecommerce transaction data can take up to 72hrs)

Bronwyn, thanks very much for your reply.

It's now been 48 hours since I posted the screenshots above showing that my Schedule Demo Goal Conversion was registered by the realtime display, but I'm still not seeing the goal completion registered in the GA homepage (see below).

Any other ideas? It seems like since the realtime display is registering the events and the corresponding goals, I'm doing everything right on my end. Not sure where to go from here.

Hi, rather than a screenshot from the Home overview, can you please share a screenshot of the actual Conversions > Goals > Overview report set to a date range of Sept 22 - up to and including today's date.
Thanks :-)
