[UA] Delete your Attribution project

Add your project to the trash can to delete.
Attribution is currently released as a beta feature.
Important: Once you've added a project to the trash can, an irreversible deletion process will begin within 35 days. Once the deletion process begins, the project is gone, and we are not able to retrieve any historical data or reinstate your reports.

Adding a project to the trash can marks the project for deletion. An irreversible deletion process begins after the project has been in the trash can for 35 days

While the project is in the trash can, your Google Analytics account continues to collect data as usual, but Attribution doesn't process it. This means that if you decide to restore your project before 35 days pass, there will be a gap in reporting for the days your project was in the trash can.

Once a project expires from the trash can, it can't be restored.

We recommend confirming with all users before moving a project to the trash can to make sure no one is still using the project.

If you're exporting conversions to one or more Google Ads accounts

If you move an Attribution project that is exporting conversions to one or more Google Ads accounts to the trash can:

  • You will see a list of conversion types that will be impacted.
  • The conversion source in Google Ads will automatically change from Attribution to Google Analytics for each conversion type that was previously exporting from Attribution. This will prevent disruptions to bidding in your Google Ads account(s).

If you would like to manually change the conversion source in Google Ads:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  2. Go to Tools > Measurement > Conversions.
  3. In the Conversion actions table, click the name of the conversion action you want to edit.
  4. In the Details panel, click Edit settings.
  5. In the Source drop-down menu, change the source from Google Attribution to a different source.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
