Select the sampling size for reports
Change the sampling size to adjust report accuracy and speed.
If you are viewing a report that is based on more than 500K visits, then the data for that report is sampled.
When you view a sampled report, you have the option to adjust the sampling size in order to increase accuracy and affect how quickly the report loads.
To adjust the sampling size:
- Click the sampling icon at the right end of the menu bar.
- Move the slider to change the sampling size and accuracy. The Faster Processing part of the slider offers the highest sampling level - the lowest number of visits used in calculation. The Higher Precision part of the slider offers the highest number visits available for this report after sampling.
When you release the slider, report data is refreshed using the new sample size. A notice on the top of the report specifies the actual number of visits that were used in the calculation. Your sampling preference is remembered across reports until you close Google Analytics.
Producing Unsampled Reports requires a huge processing load and, as a result, access to this feature is limited. Read more about the Requirements and limitations of Unsampled Reports
