Set a default value for Google Analytics key events

You can assign a default monetary value to a key event.

About the default value options

You can choose from these options:

• Don't set a default key value (Default): Uses an existing value when available. If no value is available, the key event doesn't have a value.
• Set a default key event value: Uses your default key event value for any event without an existing value. If the event has a value, the default value isn't applied.

You must have the Editor role or above on the property.

Set a default value for key events

1. In Admin, under "Data display", select Events.
2. In the "Key events" tab, select to the far right of a row.
3. Select Set default key event value.
4. Select the currency and value of the key event.
5. Select Save.

Note: You can also set a default value when you create an event that's marked as a key event.

Your changes apply to future key events only and won't apply to a key event's past data.
