Block someone in Google Allo

You can block someone from messaging you in Google Allo.

When you block someone

  • You won't receive messages from the phone number you blocked in a one-on-one chat with them.
  • You can't add the person you blocked to any groups. Nor can the person you blocked add you to any groups.
  • Other people can still add the person you blocked to group chats that you’re both in.

Note: This feature only works on Allo’s mobile app.

Block someone in a one-to-one chat

  1. Open Allo.
  2. Tap the conversation with the person you want to block.
  3. In the upper right, tap the profile icon and then Chat details and then Block.
  4. Tap Block to confirm you want to block the person.

See blocked contacts

You can see all your blocked contacts in the menu options.

  1. Open Allo.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Blocked contacts.

Unblock contacts

  1. Open Allo.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Blocked contacts.
  3. Tap the contact name you want to unblock.
  4. Tap Unblock to confirm you want to unblock the person.
