Add the remarketing tag to your site

You can place a single site remarketing tag once throughout your site, and create as many lists as you want based on sections of your site that people visit. You do not need to create separate tags for each user list you create.

Update your site privacy policy

Review the remarketing advertising policies to find out what you need to include in your site's privacy policy, and which sensitive category content can not use remarketing.

Add the remarketing tag to your entire site

 1. Sign in to your Ad Exchange account at google.com/adx.
 2. Click the Bidding tab, followed by User lists from the left navigation menu.
 3. Click Get remarketing tag to view and copy your site remarketing tag.
 4. Paste the code at the bottom of all your site's pages, before the closing
tag.

// Paste the code here

If your site doesn't have a footer or you don't have a content management system, you can paste the code quickly on multiple pages using a find and replace. Find
and replace it with the tag code followed by the
tag.

Most websites use one file for common content, so it's likely that you won't need to place the code snippet on every single page of your website. If you're not sure how to add the code to your site, send the above instruction to your webmaster.

Benefits of placing the tag on all pages of your site

The user list associated with your site remarketing tag includes all of your visitors once the tag is on your site. You can use the size of this list as a reference when you create other lists. You can also use this list to show ads to all your site visitors or exclude them from other campaigns if you want to reach only people who haven't visited your site before.

If you can't add the tag to your entire site, you can still add it to specific sections and define lists for each of those sections based on their corresponding URLs.
