View or edit an item's status

Google Ads Editor displays your campaign status, ad group status, ad status, keyword status, placement status, audience status, and asset status in the Status column.

In addition, you can manually update an item’s status when you edit the status icon.

Status column

The Status column can display an item's manual status (e.g. Paused, Deleted) or approval status (e.g. Eligible, Disapproved, Site suspended). The Status column can also display the item's inherited status, where the parent item is affecting the item. For example, if a campaign is paused, all of the keywords in that campaign show the status "Campaign paused" to let you know that the keywords aren't enabled.

In addition, if an ad is disapproved, you can hover over its status in Google Ads Editor to view the disapproval reason.

Status icon

The status icon allows you to enable or pause an item. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the tab containing the item that you would like to update.
  2. Click the item’s status icon.
  3. Select the new status in the "Change status" drop-down menu.
