Age requirement for Google Ads

In order to use Google Ads, you need to be at least 18 years old. The age we use is the one you entered when creating the Google Account that's associated with your Google Ads account. When creating a Google Account, you should provide your own age—not the age of your business.

We love that you're interested in Google Ads, you'll have to wait until you're 18 to run ads with us.

Accidentally entered the wrong age?

  1. If you're over 18 but accidentally entered an age between 13 and 18, contact us to verify your age.

    Request age verification

  2. We'll get back to you to verify your real age and regain access to your account.

What happens next

We'll verify your age and update it in your Google Account settings so you don't have this problem again. It can take up to 5 business days for us to verify your information and get back to you.

Accidentally entered an age under 13?

Accounts under the age of 13 are managed through Family Link. Find out more on how to manage your child's account.

Tip: Access your account through other authorized users
If you previously invited others to access your Google Ads account, you might be able to access your account from one of those other emails if their Google Account age is over 18. Also, if another user has admin access to your Google Ads account, they can invite you to have access using a new email address (with an age over 18).
