About restricted financial products certification

Google provides translated versions of our Help Center, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. The English version is the official language we use to enforce our policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.

To advertise the following restricted financial products, advertisers must be certified by Google:

  • Complex speculative financial products, such as contracts for difference, rolling spot forex, financial spread betting, and synonymous products
  • Cryptocurrency exchanges
  • Cryptocurrency software wallets
  • Hardware wallets designed to hold the private keys for cryptocurrencies, NFTs or other crypto based assets

Additionally, all products, landing pages, and ads must meet all local legal requirements of the location the advertiser will be targeting. This certification is required for all ad formats and assets. Learn more about our Financial products and services policy.

If you meet the requirements, apply for certification to advertise restricted financial products. If you want to advertise in more than one location, submit a separate application for each location or group of locations.

Requirements for certification

Be licensed by the relevant authorities

To be certified, advertisers will have to meet local licensing requirements. Refer to the list below for the licensing requirements for all locations where certification is currently available.
