Certification for ticket resellers (Feb. 2018)

Google provides translated versions of our Help Centre, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. The English version is the official language that we use to enforce our policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language drop-down at the bottom of the page.

In February 2018, Google will update the Other restricted businesses policy to require event tickets resellers to be certified with Google before they can advertise through Google Ads. This policy will apply globally, across all accounts that advertise ticket resale.

To be certified, resellers can’t imply that they are the primary or original provider of event tickets and must disclose to customers that they are a reseller. Resellers must also tell customers that prices may be higher than the face value (the price offered by the primary provider). Prices must be broken down to show the values of included fees and taxes during checkout and before the customer provides payment information.

In the future, Google will also require certified resellers to post the face value of the tickets along with the reseller’s price (and in the same currency).  We will publish another change log entry with advance notice prior to introducing this requirement.

For more details, see the article About ticket reseller certification.

Resellers can request certification with Google starting on 8 January 2018 when we publish the application form.
