On May 04, 2026, Google Ads will update its Gambling and games policy to allow online gambling advertisements in Alberta, Canada, for entities authorized by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
In alignment with the province's current regulatory transition, only brand awareness campaigns are permitted until such time as additional promotional activities are legally permissible. Campaigns must be strictly geo-restricted to the Alberta region. Advertisers seeking to establish a market presence ahead of formal wagering commencement are required to submit valid proof of their AGLC license application to be eligible for certification. Normal certification requirements will apply after formal wagering commencement.
