Our 'Child sexual abuse imagery (CSAI)' policy was updated and renamed to 'Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)' on 22 October 2025. This update clarifies the policy, ensuring that it aligns with industry standards and comprehensively addresses various forms of child abuse and exploitation.
Review the new policy language below, which has been edited since the announcement of the CSAI policy change on 19 August 2025. The scope of enforcement has not changed. Full enforcement will begin today.
The CSAE policy will now read:
The following is not allowed:
Content promoting or facilitating child sexual abuse or exploitation, including child sexual abuse material, content that condones or glorifies behaviour which endangers children and content that otherwise sexualises minors (anyone under 18).
Examples (non-exhaustive):
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Offering, advertising or soliciting CSAM
- Instructions on how to create CSAM or how to abuse, groom or sexually extort a child
- Content that sexualises minors, or content that promotes, encourages or glorifies child sexual abuse and exploitation
- Child grooming
- Sextortion
- Trafficking of a child
All content, whether real, fictional, simulated, cartoon, AI-generated or photoshopped is prohibited, including all content formats (e.g. audio, text and visual media, such as imagery and videos).
Violations of this policy are considered egregious. If we find violations of this policy, we will remove such content and suspend the Google Ads accounts without prior warning, which will restrict capacity to advertise with Google Ads again. Action may also include reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
