In August 2025, there will be an internal enforcement update to Google Ads Healthcare and Medicines policy. The Restricted Medical Content label, which enables eligible certified advertisers to target prescription drug keywords, will be deprecated.
Our policy for targeting prescription drug keywords is not changing. This update is intended to simplify internal enforcement for the enablement of keyword-targeting. Certified advertisers who are eligible to target prescription drug keywords will remain eligible to do so.
Advertisers using prescription drug terms in ads, landing pages, or keywords will continue to be in-scope of the Restricted Drug Terms policy, which remains unchanged.
Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued, at least 7 days, prior to any suspension of your account.
