Build trust, increase transparency and get access to more features by completing advertiser verification. You’ll just need to complete a few tasks, such as answering a few questions about your organisation. After getting verified, some of your info will appear in ad disclosures and the Ads Transparency Centre, which provides context about an advertiser and their ads.

Tasks required for verification
Google Ads will notify you via an in-account notification or an email when you need to complete advertiser verification.
To start verification, you’ll answer a few questions about your organisation and complete some required tasks. These tasks will vary depending on your account, billing setup and other factors. Only a Google Ads account admin can complete the tasks.
After you’re verified, your advertiser name and location will appear in ad disclosures, My Ad Centre and Ads Transparency Centre. Learn more about Ads transparency.

Given a deadline?
Your account will be paused if you don’t complete advertiser verification by the deadline. You can see your deadline on the advertiser verification page. It’s important to start early since it can take up to 5 working days for Google Ads to review the info that you submit.

No deadline?
You may choose to get verified on your own. You may want to do this to:
- Proactively get verified
- Get access to more ad formats and features, such as your business name and logo in Search Ads
- Remove limits from your account
It can take up to 5 working days to review your task. In rare cases, review time can take up to 30 days. You can still run ads if you don’t complete advertiser verification.

How to start a task
You may be asked to complete one or more of the tasks listed in the next section. To start a task, check your status or retry a task, follow these steps:
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon

- Click Start task and follow the provided instructions.

Answer a few questions about your organisationYou’ll need to answer a few questions about the type of organisation and who pays for the ads. If you manage ads for a client, make sure that you select Yes for 'Is your organisation an agency?' for the ad disclosure. Otherwise, your account may be paused or suspended. |

Confirm if you plan to run European Union political adsYou’ll need to confirm whether or not you plan to use this account to run European Union (EU) political ads. EU regulations require Google to ask this question. If you select Yes, your campaign can’t run in the European Union. Google Ads doesn’t allow campaigns with EU political ads to run in the EU. You can still run your campaign in other regions. Learn more about political ads in the European Union. Only admin or standard users can complete this task. Billing tasks

Answer a few questions about your payment historyYou’ll need to answer a few questions about your payment method and what your organisation does. |
Confirm your payment methodYou’ll get a small charge to your payment method with a confirmation code. Google will make a temporary charge with the confirmation code that will appear in your transaction history. A charge will appear within 5 minutes and you’ll get that money back within 14 days. The amount of this charge depends on the type of currency you use, but won’t exceed $1.95 USD. This charge should appear right away but may take up to 7 days to show in your recent transaction list.

Make a paymentYou may need to pay an existing balance or make a one-off payment. Credit or debit card payments will happen almost immediately. Bank accounts, digital wallets and other payment methods may take longer to settle in the account.

Answer a question about who pays for your adsOnce you have completed verification, your ad disclosure will show 'Ads funded by (payments profile name)' if your verified name is different from your payments profile name. This will appear in My Ad Centre and Ads Transparency Centre. As a default, your payments profile name will be used as the name. For verified agency accounts, your client’s payments profile will be used. To change the name, you’ll need to answer a question about who pays for your ads. |

Submit your documentsYou’ll submit personal info and a government-issued photo ID. See the list of acceptable documents for your country. The name and location on the payments profile must exactly match your name and location on any documents that you submit. If the name doesn’t match, make sure that you edit your payments profile name by clicking on the pencil icon next to your name. If you don’t have edit access, you’ll need to contact us. |

Confirm your phone numberYou’ll enter a phone number and confirm a 6-digit code that will be sent to your phone.

If there isn’t a match, ensure that the info provided is correct and try again. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, you’ll be asked to submit your organisation's documents instead. |

Submit your organisation’s documentsYou’ll enter your organisation’s info and submit your organisation’s documents. Refer to the Document requirements for advertiser verification for your location. The name and location on the payments profile must exactly match your legal name and location on any documents that you submit. If the name doesn’t match, edit your payments profile name by clicking on the pencil icon If you’re using a trade name or a 'Doing Business As' (DBA) name, the trade or DBA name and legal name must match the registration document that you submit. Confirm your affiliation with your organisationGoogle Ads will confirm your affiliation with your organisation by sending a 6-digit code to your phone number by SMS or organisation email. Make sure that you use the email or phone number associated with your organisation in your Google Ads account.

You can only see the payments profiles that you're an admin for. Don’t see a certain payments profile? You'll need to contact the payments profile’s admin and send a link with the task to the admin. This won’t affect the Google Ads account billing setup or give new access to the Google Ads account. This means you'll be asked to complete one or more tasks listed above under 'Organisation' or 'Individual', depending on your client’s account type.
