Update to Inappropriate Content Policy (May 2024)

Google provides translated versions of our Help Center, though they are not meant to change the content of our policies. The English version is the official language we use to enforce our policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.

In May 2024, the Google Ads Inappropriate content policy will be updated to prohibit promoting synthetic content that has been altered or generated to be sexually explicit or contain nudity. We will begin enforcing the policy update on May 30, 2024.

Not allowed Content promoting the creation or distribution of synthetic content that has been altered or generated to be sexually explicit or contain nudity as described above.

Examples (non-exhaustive): sites or apps that claim to generate deepfake pornography, instructions on how to create deepfake pornography, endorsing or comparing deepfake pornography services

We take violations of this policy very seriously and consider them egregious. If we find violations of this policy, we will suspend your Google Ads accounts upon detection and without prior warning, and you will not be allowed to advertise with us again.

Please review this policy update to determine whether or not any of your ads fall in scope of the policy, and if so, remove those ads before May 30, 2024.
