Updates to Healthcare and Medicines Policy (March 2024)

In March 2024, the Google Ads Healthcare and medicines policy will be updated to allow online pharmacies to promote their services in Belgium and South Africa, and telemedicine providers to promote their services in South Africa.

The following country-specifics will be added to the Healthcare and medicines policy page:

Belgium

Online pharmacies

No issues detected and positive check mark icon Allowed with limitations

Google allows the promotion of online pharmacies if they’re registered with the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products. Advertisers can't promote prescription drugs in their ads or landing pages.

Advertisers must also be certified with Google. See how to apply.

 

South Africa

Product Allowed?
Online pharmacies, telemedicine

No issues detected and positive check mark icon Allowed with limitations

Google allows the promotion of online pharmacies and telemedicine providers if they meet the following requirements:

Advertisers can't promote prescription drugs in their ads or landing pages. Advertisers must also be certified with Google. See how to apply.

 

Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued, at least 7 days, prior to any suspension of your account.
